Law Enforcement Uses Faulty Drug Testing Equipment

testing EquipmentLaw: Police drug testing equipment so faulty they do not stand up in court. You can trust the police. Can't you? Sure, even if the equipment they use to convict you for drug use do not work accurately, or not at all! Draeger Drug Test 5000 machines are the malfunctioning equipment. Furthermore, a third of saliva testing kits (STKs) go strait in the bin when they do not work. The kits should turn blue, but nothing happens. Even an investigation into quality control has not solved the problems. If you are charged with drug taking using the equipment any solicitor worth his salt will get you off scot-free. Moreover, the test for cannabis has never worked. This is like the mine detectors sold to the Afghan government that were found to be just a plastic casing with nothing inside. Draeger is pulling a fast one and getting away with it. State police departments or state governments, who do the purchasing, must be stupid. ◆ Law by Ty Buchanan   ◆

Are We Moving Toward a Secular World?

The world is polarizing with those who want to stay with religions and others who want to live their lives without any belief system. Certain norms of behavior remain from the past. The prayer before parliament begins goes back centuries. Few people go to church on Sunday anymore. Even in Muslim countries some want to live a secular life with fewer prayers throughout the day. Of course, the majority in these countries want worship pressed into law. It is human nature to make others do what you want. Unfortunately, many protest against this. The main problem is we all have different realities. There are seven billion realities on this planet. Though we are all presumed to be born the same everyone is different. No two people have the same range of hearing, color vision or even musical ability. What is truth for one is myth for another. In the past, force always won in the long term. Today freedom and independence is the call everywhere. When force meets force to

Australian Privacy Will End

We need more privacy. What's that say Australian police? They are ignoring the public and installing a system that intercepts emails and keeps them for future perusal. It is called "deep packet inspection". Whether they will need permission from a judge like phone tapping is not yet known. The American NSA has been using the system for a few years. Data collection is immediate, in real time. Everything is caught by this new technology - content, duration, location, times, dates, email addresses and even phone numbers when used. Australian Federal Police say it will be used as a "system tool". Does this mean it will not be used routinely? You can bet your bottom dollar it will be used all the time if they can get away with it! There will certainly be a public outcry. It has been compared to the post office opening mail to see the content. As the system will be on all the time and will be used to continually monitor someone, it is not similar. The po

Man Tortures Kangaroo

Culling an animal species is acceptable but cruelty is not.  The exact population of kangaroos in unknown.  There are at least as many as there are people in Australia. Culling involves a direct gunshot to the head.   Using your car as a weapon to run over a kangaroo, then kicking it to death is definitely not on. Nigel Franks went even further: he dragged the carcass two kilometers along the road with a rope attached to his car.   A woman found the dead animal in the high street of a town. In court the defendant was told he was in serious trouble.  He had already broken the law before, not complying to a community order.  He has to return to court on June 4 to find out what his sentence will be. http://www.adventure--australia.blogspot.com/ http://www.tysaustralia.blogspot.com/ http://www.feeds.feedburner.com/AdventureAustralia http://www.technorati.com/blogs/ http://adventure--australia.blogspot.com . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Parents and Children Hit by New WA Drug Laws

Western Australia is about to fill up its jails and children's care homes in the war on drugs. New legislation will jail parents and take away children for the cultivation of one cannabis plant. The jail terms are mandatory for the manufacture of small amounts of other drugs.  The conservative government has certainly lived up to its ideals of trying to turn back the clock a century or so. Transportation to a far off land could be next for "criminals". An earlier Labor government had decriminalized minor marijuana use. Just why the WA government would want to change a situation that seemed to be working is the real question. The premier must know that tough regulation like in the US has failed, totally. If legislation worked, such action would be justified Even in the UK, people found with a small amount of drugs on their person are given a warning the first time it happens. Only serial offenders are jailed. This is the best idea. Target the dealers not individu

Australia Bans Swearing

Swearing is part of Australian culture. Indeed, to be accepted as truly Australian, you have to swear a lot. So it is with great surprise that Australia is bringing in a swearing ban! The furore has been caused by the airing of Gordan Ramsey's programs on televisions. In 40 minutes he did say the "f" word more than 80 times. This may be excessive. But if one goes into a public bar, particularly when there are men who have done a hard day's grueling labor, such as shearers, the "f" word will be expressed a lot. The Australian Government has made recommendations to Australian television networks advising them to review the way they set program guidelines "to stop" coarse language. Just how they are going to do this is a mystery considering Ramsey's programs are very popular, swearing or not. It is said there is a culture of crudeness. Well, This is Australia and this is part of Australian culture. http://www.adventure--australia.blogspot.

Them Scooters Ain't Motorcycles?

I don't know about other countries but here in Australia there is a silly law that says you can ride a scooter on a normal motor vehicle driving licence. I believe that this is also the case in other English speaking countries - let me know. It is true that motor cycles are different monsters than cars. A quite different drivers technique is involved. It is said that many people could not handle a motorcycle and sidecar, for example, because steering it around corners needs some natural skill that one is born with. Surely if one can ride a scooter, 60cc motorcycles should also be included. The engines are powerful enough to give a good ride to a large person over hill and dale. Years ago there was a "chink" in British law which allowed people to drive a three wheeled vehicle on a motorcycle licence. Some took offence at this and set many three wheelers alight in car parks. They were made of fibreglass and readily burned. This is much like the hostility some have towards
