Retail: Kogan is more expensive after dealing with return issues which are very common for this online only store. Noting it specializes in cheapies. We all know that rats can get really big, particularly when they eat "quality" garbage left by humans. Yet, city people have never seen the giant rats found in East Timor. Africa was thought to be the home of large rats, but this is not the case. No less that seven new species of large rats have been observed in East Timor. If you can image one 10 times larger than your "domestic" beast, you are getting close to the mark. The giants weigh about 5 kilograms. There is evidence that ancient man actually ate the rats on Timor as far back as 50,000 years ago. This was before tools were introduced from Asia. It seems that they were hunted then thrown onto the fire to cook because there were no cooking pots. The study aims to find out what animals were like before humans arrived there from Southeast Asia. Surely people against spam are in the right. Spam is a nuisance to society. Not so! A spamming company is suing an anti-spammer because it was blacklisted on a spam prevention site. A Perth company, T3 Direct, wants AU$43,750 in damages. The "spews.org" website blacklisted the company. Websites such as spews.org distribute lists of IP addresses of spammers so end users can block them. T3 Direct cannot sue the website because it has no actual address and it has no money. So the company is suing the "culprit" instead, namely, Joseph McNichol. This is the first court action of its type in the world. A Web site is being set-up to fund Mr McNichol's court costs. Rubbish is being recycled. Thrown away plastic is being turned into articles that sell in Asia and the West. In Southeast Asia people are scouring rubbish tips for plastic which is turned into fashion products called "trashion". The business in burgeoning in the West with designers using clothing, jewelry and even things for the home made of discarded plastic. Soft drink bottles, toothpaste tubes and detergent containers are sought after material. A non-profit organization has been set up by Ann Wizer to buy trash from pickers and train people to make the "rubbish" into useful products.
