You Already Have a My Health Record (MHR)

No security can be claimed for Australia's new My Health Record. Staff at hospitals can download patient records from the central database, copy them, then take the information home. Password gateways are useless. No hacking is needed. Records have been kept for years on people in hospitals anyway. Many have found that they already have an MHR record when they attempt to opt-out. After October 15 clearing your data is not possible. It cannot be deleted, only cancelled - whatever that means. Apparently, cancelled records will be kept in the cloud for 30 years. Don't be fooled. Governments can bring in new rules to access them. Politicians of all colors know the future will be Orwellian. There will be nowhere to hide and everything about you will be known by the state. The government started My Health Record without your consent six years ago. It was called the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR). A patient was pestered after release from hospital. He r...

Fake Cat Mummy a Blow to Anthropology

Anthropology: Cat mummy in Western Australian Museum a fake. It is known that ancient Egyptians made counterfeit mummies, particularly of birds and cats who were given as offerings to the gods. In 1982 an X-ray of a cat mummy showed that it was a fake, probably made in the early 20th century. Staff of the Western Australia Museum who were custodians of the "mummy" were shocked and disappointed by the discovery. A recent CT scan of the "mummy" highlights a human femur broken in the middle then molded to take the shape of a cat. The scan has been sent to Cairo for further study. To solve this problem once and for all a determination of its real age needs to be done. Why waste time looking and re-interpreting?  The WA Museum is still so ashamed of the issue that is has never released a photo of the fake cat mummy nor will show the X-ray or scan to the public. Genuine fake-cat mummy from Saqqara in  Egyp Genuine mummies are on display today at the WA M...

Medicare to Adopt Online Payment

It's about time Medicare moved into the modern age! Thankfully it has given people an alternative to queueing for their medical treatment rebate. It is a silly system anyway. X-ray clinics and specialists should be given the subsidy directly in the first place. This would reduce the number of public servants providing an unnecessary service. Now "customers" will be able to fill in forms online. Payment will then be made directly into their bank accounts. We are led to believe that Medicare delayed adoption of a direct payment process due to the potential for fraud. This is nonsense. Fraud could occur under the old system. Limiting payments to $250 a day will not stop fraud. Medicare holds that people will continue to use the queuing method of refunds. Internet banking is increasing in popularity. There is no doubt most will change to the new system in droves. http://www.adventure--australia.blogspot.com/ http://www.tysaustralia.blogspot.com/ http://www.feeds.feedburner.co...
