Volcanoes Once Erupted Zircon Gemstones - Science

Science - Research in Western Australia shows super volcanoes erupted zircon gemstones. The surface of Earth was once covered in diamonds, well a very close imposter anyway. Australian scientists have just found out that a super volcano spewed out zircon crystals all over Australia.  It is a gem stone in many more colors than diamond. Samples from drilling in Western Australia showed particular crystals should have not been there. They were different from naturally occurring ones eroded from rocks. The "strangers" were 2,300km from their volcanic source. The great distance from erupting volcanoes indicates that the volcanic explosions 106 million years ago were much larger than previously thought. Australia must have been a very violent place in the past. Many animals would have died out because of the eruptions. ◆ science  CScience by Ty Buchanan   ◆ Tys Country Amusing Animal Photos Odd Weird Things Articles News Reviews ● Vista Computer Solutions  ...

Life Began in Puddles Near Volcanoes

Chemistry: Life began near an active volcano in a freshwater puddle. Use your imagination and assume that life began in a puddle of fresh water near an active volcano. Molecules begin to "see" each other and unite into a larger whole. They become membranes, the envelopes of future life. Like a chicken's egg the membrane shell is the holding structure where chemicals are assembled for incubating lifeforms. RNA was the first significant biological molecule. This has a basic form of repeating subunits. A simple molecule perhaps. but difficult for a primitive Earth to "create". Yet it came into existence. Membrane were required for chemicals to grow into RNA. The fatty, lipid molecules in membranes formed easily. Lipids assist the building of RNA, then it forms a protective coating. This was the first primitive cell. As soon as some RNA replicated, lifeforms began to evolve becoming more complex. This occurred in fresh water which was heated and coo...

Weird Fanged Fish Found in Australia

Researchers on an Australian exploration ship got more than they bargained for when they searched an area near Sydney in New South Wales. They were examining lobster larvae but discovered something really snappy. On the sea floor near ancient volcanoes they found an odd fanged fish. The tiny fish a bit larger than your thumbnail is as black as coal. While the fish has probably already been named in the snaggletooth dragonfish genus ( Astronesthes ) these fish have rarely been seen. There are ten fish species of this type located in the region. Further analysis will be need to find out if it is a new species. The larvae of common fish such as flatfish, gurnard, kingie and Dolphin fish were also seen there. This surprised scientists who had previously thought that they were washed into the path of predators by the current. It seems the dragon fish came up from the depths to join them.   ♣ ◆ Science by Ty Buchana n   ◆ Adventure Australia Funny An...
