All human beings are the same. This presumption is now challenged by new findings. Some people are good at remembering faces and the names that go with them. Others can recognize only a few. One has lines at the two ends pointing inward. The other has lines pointing out. The percentage of people who perceive the second line to be longer differs from society to society. For example, the Kalahari foragers know that the lines are same length - nearly all of the participants tested. On the other hand, most Senegalese believed the second line to be longer. CSIRO continues its groundbreaking work in broadband technology. After taking US based computer manufacturers to court to make them pay for Wi-Fi developed by CSIRO, work goes ahead on wireless broadband. The new system uses ordinary VHF antennas already on rooftops. Smithton in Tasmania is the town chosen for project testing. Terminals were set up on six farms, the furthest one being 8.2 km away from the transmitter. Phone, the Internet and video were tested. A speed of 12 megabits per second was achieved using just one TV channel. VHF channels are soon to be phased out with free to air television moving to UHF. The new broadband is very efficient. Where television had broadcast using 40 kilowatts per channel, wireless Internet worked perfectly with 3-watt. I don't know about other countries but here in Australia there is a silly law that says you can ride a scooter on a normal motor vehicle driving licence. I believe that this is also the case in other English speaking countries - let me know. It is true that motor cycles are different monsters than cars. A quite different drivers technique is involved. It is said that many people could not handle a motorcycle and sidecar, for example, because steering it around corners needs some natural skill that one is born with. Surely if one can ride a scooter, 60cc motorcycles should also be included. The engines are powerful enough to give a good ride to a large person over hill and dale. Years ago there was a "chink" in British law which allowed people to drive a three wheeled vehicle on a motorcycle licence. Some took offence at this and set many three wheelers alight in car parks.
